Is Kusadasi a family friendly resort?
Absolutely – it is one of the best and not just on the Aegean coast of Turkey but throughout Turkey as a whole. There is something for everyone here, children, parents and grandparents it quite simply ticks all boxes and here is why:
– Regular international flights arrive into Izmir (Adnan Menderes Airport) it is the closest airport to Kusadasi, plus it is less than a 4 hour flight from the UK. You don’t have to worry about flying long haul and very appealing to tourists is that Kusadasi is only 80km (50 miles) from the airport to its centre taking less than an hour transfer. To reach your holiday destination is via shuttle transfer, private car hire, taxi or bus all made very easy which you can pre book online if you wish. The travel time appeals to families with small children.
– This western coastline isn’t humid; yes it enjoys 300 days of sunshine and trust me in the summer months it can get hot. However, there is a mild breeze which makes sunbathing or sightseeing a joy. This in turn makes it pleasant for the younger members of the family whether they are building sandcastles or running around and as we all know happy tots makes happy mummies and daddies.
– Kusadasi provides plenty of entertainment, for everyone to be honest, but especially so for little ones and teenagers and sometimes it’s difficult to find somewhere that caters for the whole family. One of the great things about holidays in Kusadasi is it appeals across the board with its diverse range of attractions.
– If you and your family love the beach then Kusadasi is for you, there are numerous gorgeous beaches with the most popular being Ladies Beach. This stretch of coast is most famous for its glorious clean beaches and golden sand perfect for the youngsters and there is a smattering of beach clubs too.
– There are three Water Parks, close to the centre of Kusadasi. One of the parks has Dolphin Shows; it’s a great day out for the children who will love the thrill of the water slides. Fun fairs are found along the promenade and cater for children of all ages.
– Daily boat tours around the bays or a trip to one of the Greek Islands, there are daily ferries to beautiful Samos and the ferry only takes 75 minutes.
– Sightseeing is a must on any holiday, for a relaxed day out head to the Dilek Peninsula (National Park) it’s a natural beauty spot also called the Milli Park. Pigeon Island (Guvercin Adasi) which is connected to mainland Kusadasi by a causeway, this picturesque setting includes a beautiful flower garden which surrounds the castle. Ephesus and its historic ruins plus the wonderful monuments of the Roman Imperial period include the Library of Celsus and the Great Theatre. One of the Seven Wonders of the World is the Temple of Artemis.
– Getting around locally is easy, the local bus service is called a Dolmus and they stop anywhere for you. This is a very inexpensive way of either getting around your own resort or visiting others and for very little money the whole family can travel anywhere without any fuss. There is of course the local taxi service also which is still affordable.
– Even children who struggle with food can’t go wrong here, Turkey is famous for their love of children and they will go out of their way to ensure the little ones enjoy their food. Local dishes are on offer which will appeal to mum and dad and chips, burgers, pizza even beans on toast will keep the children happy.
– Nightlife is varied and there are plenty of themed nights which children can join in. Discos allow children in until around 11pm then its time for the grown ups to let their hair down; upbeat restaurants offer live music or choose a restaurant at the marina which is cosy and relaxing.
